This annual camp has become a beacon of how the NCC is actively contributing to nation-building by molding the youth into disciplined torchbearers of India’s future. With the camp nearing its seventh day, over 600 NCC cadets from 45 educational institutions are undergoing intense and holistic training sessions. Their rigorous schedule begins at 3.00 am and stretches until 10.00 pm daily, with the cadets braving the summer heat with steadfast discipline and unwavering dedication.

The camp’s curriculum is a balanced mix of physical, military, and intellectual training, including weapon handling, foot and weapon drills, obstacle courses, .22 rifle firing, fire-fighting techniques, section battle drills and map reading. In a step towards modernising the training, drone flying has also been introduced to the camp’s repertoire.

In addition to military drills, the cadets are engaged in activities designed to sharpen their communication and leadership skills. They are participating in lecture demonstrations, extempore speaking, and debate competitions. Cultural and Sanskrit activities are also being organised, highlighting India’s unity in diversity.

Physical fitness remains a cornerstone of the NCC training, with events like volleyball, basketball, tug-of-war and Kho-Kho infusing energy and enthusiasm into the camp environment.
