Punjab Local Government Minister Dr Ravjot Singh on Tuesday visited the existing dump site in the city to take stock of the situation and announced that the city would get the new dump site at an open place to facilitate the residents.

While reviewing the work of water pipe lines being laid at railway road, Local Government Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said that the railway road known as main bazar in the heart of city would be constructed shortly.

He said this road would be a cemented road proved to be a much needed facility for the residents. He said that all the required approvals were being provided to start the laying of cement immediate after completion of pipeline work.

Giving information about the sewerage and STP projects, Dr Ravjot Singh said that the extended areas and new colonies would be added to the proposed plan.

He said that funds to the tune of nearly Rs 48 crore were needed for this purpose and Punjab Government is fully committed to complete this project. He said that this project would be immensely beneficial for the Nawan Shahr city residents. Improvement Trust Chairman Satnam Singh Jalwaha, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training vice chairman Lalit Mohan Pathak, District Planning Committee Chairman Satnam Singh Jalalpur and other were also present on the occasion.
