In a significant development that brought long-awaited relief to residents of Ward No 46 in Hadiabad, Phagwara, a new motor has been installed at the tube well near Sandheera Mohalla, Gurdwara Bauli Sahib.

The installation replaces a motor that had been in service for nearly 19 years, addressing the persistent water supply issues faced by locals.

The initiative was spearheaded by Aam Aadmi Party’s Kapurthala District Secretary, Santosh Kumar Gogi, who took action following repeated complaints from residents. Gogi stated that the old motor was frequently malfunctioning, causing severe inconvenience—particularly during the scorching summer months.

Acting swiftly, he coordinated with the Phagwara Municipal Corporation and ensured that a new motor and wiring were installed within just 19 days.

Expressing his concern, Gogi questioned why successive governments had failed to resolve such a pressing issue over the past two decades. He emphasised that his efforts were entirely motivated by public interest and the urgent need to address the longstanding problem.

Grateful residents extended heartfelt thanks to Gogi for his proactive role. In turn, Gogi acknowledged the cooperation and support of Municipal Commissioner Dr Akshita Gupta, Mayor Rampal Uppal and SDO Pradeep Chattani of the Sewerage and Water Supply Department.
