MLA Dr Ishank Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed road from Bassi Kalan to Bathula. This road connects the Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar road to Bassi Jamal Khan via Bichhohi, significantly improving the area’s connectivity. The 5.25 km long road includes a 700-metre stretch of concrete where the road was prone to breakage. Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 2 crore, the road’s width has been increased from 10 feet to 14 feet, making traffic more smooth and safe.
Fulfilling a long-standing demand from local residents, this road has been built to modern standards. During the inauguration ceremony, villagers expressed their gratitude to MLA Dr Ishank Kumar and praised his efforts to accelerate development work in the area.
MLA Dr Ishank Kumar stated that strengthening infrastructure in the Chabbewal Assembly constituency is his priority. He added that roads are the backbone of any region’s economic and social progress. The completion of this road will not only benefit the residents of Bassi Kalan, Bathula, Bassi Jamal Khan and Bachhohi villages, but will also facilitate transportation to surrounding areas. Dr Ishank Kumar stated that the road width has been increased for the convenience and comfort of the villagers and further improvements will be made as needed.
