PAGAAM (Phule Ambedkari Gauravshali and Adarshwadi Muhim), an national-level NGO, headed by former Principal Secretary SR Ladhar, have demanded immediate constitution of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the issue of bogus SC certificates scam.
Talking to media here on Wednesday, Ladha said the SIT should be headed by a senior IPS police officer from SC category with members from State SC commission and officers from PCS, belonging to general category, besides one member from an NGO working for the welfare of the SC and the OBC people.
Ladhar urged the government that the students, studying on bogus caste certificates, employees or officers working in government jobs and elected representatives on bogus certificates on preliminary enquiry may be suspended and probe by SIT may be completed in one-month time bound manner.
PAGAAM members, including Justice SP Bangarh (Retd), SR Ladhar, IAS (Retired),Surinder Kumar, IPS (Retd ADGP), Gurdip Singh Warwal, (Retd) Former Deputy Ambassador (Germany), Amarjit Singh Ghagga, IRS (Retd), Commissioner Customs, Jagtar Singh, IRS (Retired Commissioner Income Tax), Ajaib Singh, IAS (Retd), DS Malwai, District & Sessions Judge (Retd) also urged the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh that the SIT would also probe and fix the responsibility of people responsible for issue of bogus SC / OBC certificates and of those who assisted the patwaris, numberdars/sarpanchs and councillors.
They alleged that large scale Bogus Scheduled Caste certificates were procured by the so-called high caste (Non-SC) people and they were using these certificates to get admissions in professional colleges like MBBS,BDS and Engineering colleges, besides getting government jobs.
