Strap: DC constitutes committee to oversee treatment of patients at the facility.

Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Friday notified Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) as the Covid-19 care centre, having the 800-bed facility, in the district to ensure quality treatment to the infected persons here.
The DC said a high-powered committee had been constituted for the management of 800-bed in the Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT). He further said the committee would be headed by PUDA Estate Officer Navneet Kaur Bal along with DSP Kartarpur Surinder Pal Singh, District Health Officer Dr Surinder Singh, Registrar Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) SK Mishra, SDO Jatinder Arun, Assistant Executive Engineer PSPCL Ram Lal, JE Ashwani Gera, AFSO Jagmohan Singh, ETO Pawan and SDO PWD (B&R) Som Nath Verma.
Thori said the committee would ensure quality treatment to patients at the Covid-care centres. He said the committee would also ensure adequate medical and manpower, availability of medicines, the supply of oxygen cylinders and the equipment as per the requirement to patients, regular supply of cooked food and drinking water, uninterrupted electric supply with adequate storage of water, laundry services and security in the isolation facility and others.
The DC said a detailed contingency plan had already been chalked out and duties had also been assigned to the officers of the civil and police administration to use this facility for providing them better stay during isolation.
He said with cooperation of the public, battle against Covid-19 pandemic would be won. He asked people to exercise restraint and not to get panic.
