No registration of BS IV vehicles after April 1: RTA Secy

Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Nayan Jassal today held a detailed meeting with vehicle dealers to apprise them that no BS IV vehicle would be registered by the department after April 1.
Chairing a meeting with the dealers here at her office, the RTA Secretary said as per the directions of the apex court, no registration of BS IV vehicles would be done after April 1.
She said to facilitate those people having BS IV vehicles but don’t got them registered, the Transport Department had initiated a special drive as per which owners of such vehicles could submit files of their vehicles in offices of the RTA Secretary or the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) by March 25.
Dr Jassal said the move was aimed at ensuring that people with BS IV vehicles did not face any inconvenience in getting their vehicles registered.
Jassal said for the facilitation of people, the offices of the RTA Secretary and the SDM would remain open on March 21 (Saturday) so that people could submit their files. She called upon people to follow the time line of the department and get their vehicles registered.
