NPS staff all set for Delhi march on tomorrow
To attend rally at Ram Leela Maidan, expose AAP govt in Punjab for 'misleading staff'
Government employees under the New Pension Scheme (NPS), Punjab, will participate in large number in the national-level rally to be held at Ram Leela Maidan, under the banner of the National Movement for OPS (NMOPS), under the umbrella of the Old Pension Restoration Sangharsh Committee.
State convener NPS employees Jasvir Singh Talwara and president Sukhjit Singh informed the media that the preparations for the Delhi rally had been completed. They said the employees would protest against the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) being imposed by the Central Government and demand the restoration of the OPS.
They said theemployees would expose the performance of AAP in Punjab at the national level because in November 2018, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal had promised the employees in a rally that wherever the AAP government was formed, the old pension would be restored and this guarantee was also given to the employees in Punjab. But they said even after four years of the formation of the government, the employees were without pension.
They said keeping in mind the Himachal and Gujarat elections, an incomplete notification was issued in 2022, which had not been implemented till date, due to which there was intense protest and anger among the employees. To expose this breach of promise by the government, Punjab employees would participate in this rally in thousands.
