Nursing student dies by suicide in Punjab’s Garhshankar
A 23-year-old BSc nursing student allegedly committed suicide at a hostel room of Gursewa College of Nursing, Garhshankar, late Sunday evening, police said.
The student, Davinder Kumar, was found hanging from the ceiling fan, police added.
The cause of suicide is yet to be ascertained, he added.
According to reports, Davinder, son of Lal Bahadur Pandit and a resident of Somriya Koritola village, under Netan Police Station, Siwan district (Bihar), was in the fifth semester of the BSc Nursing program.
On the day of the incident, he had appeared for an exam and had dinner before returning to his room. When he failed to show up for the night attendance and did not respond to repeated knocks on his door, other students informed the college security. The window to his room was broken open, and Davinder was found hanging inside.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
