One arrested for raping minor

Based on the statement of a 15-year-old girl, the police have arrested Harpreet Singh, alias Mintu, of Souli village, for raping her and registered a case against him under Section 65 of the BNS and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

The victim told the police that she was a tenth-grade student. Harpreet asked her to be friends with him. In January 2025, he lured her to his home and raped her, resulting in her pregnancy. The victim stated that when her health deteriorated, her family brought her to the Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, for treatment, where she gave birth to a baby girl. Acting on this statement, the Garhshankar police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
