One dies after bike hits sambar

Talwara: A 65-year-old man was killed, while his nephew was seriously injured, when a wild sambar rammed into their motorcycle on the road. Deceased’s brother Ranjit Singh told the police that his son Sanjeev Kumar (24) and elder brother Balveer Singh (65) were going towards Datarpur on their bike. All of a sudden, two sambars came from the forest side and collided with their motorcycle. Both fell on the road and were admitted to Hajipur hospital, from where they were referred to the CHC Mukerian in a critical condition. Balveer Singh died during treatment, while Sanjeev is under treatment. OC

67 youngsters get job offer

Hoshiarpur: A block-level placement camp was organised at the BDPO office, Mukerian, under the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission’, where 99 youngsters registered for placement, of which 67 were offered job letters by the SIS Security company. MLA Indu Bala also visited the camp and exhorted the candidates to work with utmost dedication and professional commitment. DC Apneet Riyait said the district administration would organise nine more camps in other blocks to secure maximum placements for rural youngsters. SIS Security company’s officer Santokh Singh thanked the district administration for organising placement camp to facilitate unemployed youths. OC
