The CIA staff of the city police have apprehended one person and recovered three illegal pistols along with live cartridges from his possession. Commissioner of Police (CP) Dhanpreet Kaur said during a special checking operation, the CIA team was positioned near Workshop Chowk. They received a tip-off that Abhishek, alias Vansh, a resident of Gandhi Camp, was roaming in the area with an intent to commit a crime. The police team acted swiftly, apprehended the accused, and recovered one illegal .32 bore pistol along with two live cartridges from his possession.

Subsequently, FIR No. 82 was registered against him under Sections 25(1) (B), 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at Division No. 2 police station. During police remand of the accused, two more illegal .30 bore pistols were recovered.
