One killed in car-handcart collision in Phagwara

A man was killed in a road accident involving a makeshift handcart and a car on the Khalwara bypass near Phagwara. The deceased has been identified as Keemat Singh of Ajit Nagar, Jalandhar.

According to sources, Singh was travelling in his handcart when a car collided with it. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the local Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

In a separate incident, four members of a family sustained injuries in a collision between a motorcycle and a garbage cart while en route to Nakodar. The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

Both incidents highlight the growing concerns over road safety and the dangers posed by reckless driving and unregulated traffic on local roads. The authorities are expected to investigate the cases further.
