Only 2 out of 17 sugar mill properties auctioned
Keeping in view the non-payment of arrears of Rs 27 crore of sugarcane growers, the administration today hold an auction of 17 different properties of Golden Sandhar Sugar Mills, Phagwara, on Friday but only two out of the 17 properties belonging to mill directors could be auctioned.
When contacted, Phagwara Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jashanjit Singh told this correspondent here this evening that 54 kanal 7 marla land of Harpreet Singh Bains in village Bidd-Dhandoli was bid for Rs 1 crore 6 lakh by Rajiv Kumar while 22 kanal 4 marla land of Dalbir Kaur Bains in village Rawalpindi was bid for Rs 1.23 crore by Harneet Singh. SDM Jashanjit Singh said that both auctions would materialise only after confirmation by the High Court.
