Lok Sabha MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal has accused the opposition of deliberately obstructing the state’s development to serve their own political interests.
Addressing mediapersons, Dr Chabbewal said leaders of opposition parties, particularly the Congress, hold a narrow and self-serving outlook when it comes to the welfare of Punjab and its people.
“The Opposition is making desperate attempts to defame the government, but they have failed miserably due to a lack of any concrete issues,” he said.
Taking direct aim at Congress leaders, Chabbewal alleged they are fixated on returning to the Chief Minister’s House in Chandigarh, despite having lost public trust.
“The people of Punjab are wise. They have already ousted these leaders for their past misdeeds and will never forgive them,” he added.
He went on to accuse the opposition of having backstabbed the state, claiming their actions were now catching up with them.
“I am aware of their wrongdoings and am now exposing their sins. They are paying the price for betraying the people of Punjab,” Chabbewal said.
Highlighting the achievements of the state government, he praised its efforts in ensuring the progress and prosperity of the state. He cited the introduction of the ‘Sadak Surakhya Force’ (SSF) as a major initiative that has significantly reduced road accident fatalities in Punjab by 48-49 per cent.
Dr Chabbewal noted Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had praised the state government’s SSF initiative and urged other states to adopt the model, calling it a “milestone in the state’s history.”
He said the state government remains committed to working tirelessly for the development and welfare of the people of the state.
