Under the directives of the Deputy Director, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Mohali, the Block Development and Panchayat Office (BDPO), Phagwara, conducted the fourth orientation camp aimed at training newly elected sarpanches and panches about the Panchayati Raj System. The camp, held under the supervision of Block Development and Panchayat Officer Rampal Rana, is part of a series of training sessions scheduled to continue until February 15.
The camp witnessed active participation from representatives of 10 villages in the Phagwara block. Expert trainers, including Satnam Singh (BRP, CSC Panchat), advocate Ravi Kumar Kaul, Joginder Singh (State Bank of India, Phagwara), Ravinder Kumar (SBI Bank, Phagwara), Harvinder Kaur (Supervisor, CDPO Office), and Renu Rani and Neeru Rekhi from the Self-Help Group, Phagwara, provided insights into various aspects of Panchayati Raj operations.
The participants described the camp as highly beneficial. Among the attendees were Panchayat Secretaries Malkit Chand Kang, Sanjeev Kumar, Sulakhan Singh (TC), Anil Kumar, and Amandeep (JE), as well as APO Surinder Pal Singh Baghana, Revenue Patwari Surinder Kumar, TA Jaskaran Verma, and E-Panchayat officials Umesh Chander and Sumitra Devi.
Sarpanches including Balwinder Kaur (Hardaspur), Gurbaksh Kaur (Dr Ambedkar Nagar), Sunita Dugg, Kuldeep Kumar (Jagatpur Jattan), Amarjeet Kaur (Gulabgarh), Satwinder Singh (Harbanspur), Balveer Chand (Jagpalpur), Jasveer Kaur (Gujaratan), Surinder Kaur (Fatehgarh), and Manjeet Kumar (Gandwa), along with numerous panchayat members also attended the session.
