Out of 1,052 persons in home quarantine in Garhshankar sub-division, 954 are from rural areas while 98 from town. Civil Hospital SMO Dr Tek Raj Bhatia said 134 persons have been put in home quarantine in rural area and six in the city by the Health Department on Friday.

A police personnel of Bidon village, who came in contact with Moranwali’s Covid victim Harbhajan Singh, who had died due to the infection, was sent to Hoshiarpur for further investigation for having symptoms like fever and cough.

PHC Posi SMO Dr Raghuvir Singh said 134 persons have been home quarantined in the area. He said teams were going from door-to-door tomore than 1900 villages to trace persons with infection.

Meanwhile, Hoshiarpur CMO Dr Jasbir Singh said by now 218 samples have been sent for testing from the district. Out of these, 163 samples have been reported negative while reports for 49 were awaited. By now, six persons were found Covid-19 positive of which Harbhajan Singh of Moranwali village had died. He said 11 persons had been admitted to isolation ward.
