Pabla takes charge as chairman of Hoshiarpur Improvement Trust
The Local Bodies Department has streamlined the sewerage and water supply system and increased the existing sewerage treatment capacity of 2,142 MLD by 492.15 MLD. Local Bodies Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said this after congratulating Gurbinder Singh Pabla on assuming charge as the Chairman of Improvement Trust, Hoshiarpur, today.
The minister said that 730 machines were being purchased at a cost of Rs 39.55 crore for cleaning sewers. As many as 52 sewerage treatment plants with a capacity of 607 MLD were under construction in the state at a cost of about Rs 650 crore, which will be completed in the next one and a half years.
Regarding Swachh Bharat Mission in the state, Dr Ravjot Singh said that funds worth Rs. 413.66 crore have been released to the urban local bodies for machines and other processing facilities to ensure solid waste management in urban areas.
On Gurbinder Singh Pabla assuming charge as chairman in his presence, the Local Bodies Minister said that the performance of the Trust will now improve further.
MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa, MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, MLA Karamveer Singh Ghumman and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Chairman Pabla said that the works of the people will be done smoothly and in a timely manner as per the objectives of the Punjab Government.
Cheema takes charge as KIT chief
Phagwara: Sajjan Singh Cheema assumed the charge as Chairman of the Kapurthala Improvement Trust in the presence of Punjab’s Local Government Minister Dr Ravjot Singh.
Ravjot Singh said under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the government was making efforts for the holistic development of the state. He said Cheema was a loyal soldier of the party and had been entrusted with a significant responsibility by the party. He expressed hope that Cheema would serve diligently as the Chairman of the Improvement Trust.
