As part of the Punjab Government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, a painting competition was organized at Meritorious School, Phagwara, under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jashanjeet Singh.

Speaking at the event, SDM Jashanjeet Singh stated that the initiative is being carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. He emphasized the importance of spreading awareness in schools and colleges, urging all principals and school heads to incorporate anti-drug awareness messages into morning assemblies.

He further instructed schools to conduct regular anti-drug seminars, painting competitions, and speech contests to reinforce the campaign’s message among students. “After block-level competitions, students will participate in sub-divisional level contests to ensure their active role as ambassadors in the fight against drugs,” he added.

During the event, SDM Jashanjeet Singh honoured the winners of the painting competition with appreciation certificates, encouraging them to continue promoting a drug-free society.
