Pandher asks farmers to reach Shambhu, Khanauri
Sarwan Singh Pandher, co-ordinator, KMM, stated today that as per the proposed programme of the KMM and the SKM (Non-Political), a jatha of tractor and trolleys from Majha would reach the Shambhu border.
Talking to mediapersons in the presence of BKU Doaba president Manjit Singh Rai and general secretary Satnam Singh Sahni near village Saprod, Pandher stated that the protest going on at Shambhu and Khanauri borders was not only of farmers but of mazdoors/workers too.
He emphasised that online shopping sites of various corporates were looting farmers by buying crops at low prices but selling these 10-time rates on the online platforms. He said it was a conspiracy of the government to give away farming in the hands of the corporate world. He said farmers were not only fighting for their rights, but also of workers, small shopkeepers and businesses whom corporates and the government were trying to finish.
He further emphasised that they were raising the issues of unemployment, 200 days work for MGNREGA workers, among various issues so Punjab should support their protest. He appealed to the people to support their protest by mobilising one tractor and 10/15 members from each village to the borders.
Addressing the media, Manjit Singh Rai stated that a large jatha of KMSC activists would reach Shambhu today. He said the government was repeating that only a few farmers were sitting on the borders, but today a large jatha was reaching the Shambhu border to open the eyes of the government. He further said the Centre should agree to their demands otherwise tractors from all over Punjab would be mobilised towards the borders in the coming days.
