A gathering of Panthic leaders, women’s organisations, youth sports clubs and traditional Akali leaders from the Phagwara constituency took place today at Chahal Nagar Ground under the leadership of Baba Sarbjot Singh Bedi, a direct descendant of Guru Nanak Dev.

During the meeting, attendees unanimously passed a resolution pledging support to the December 2 Hukamnama issued by the Akal Takht. The resolution affirmed their commitment to join the ongoing membership drive of the Shiromani Akali Dal, being conducted under the guidance of a five-member committee.

The event, organised at the invitation of Sukhdev Singh Phagwara of the Alliance of Sikh Organizations, drew over 400 representatives from more than 50 surrounding villages. The gathering was addressed by Giani Harpreet Singh, Bhai Bhupinder Singh Rampurkhera, Bibi Satwant Kaur, former MLA Gurpratap Singh Wadala, former SGPC member Jathedar Bharpur Singh Dhandra, Parmpal Singh Sabhra (coordinator of Alliance of Sikh Organizations), and Bhai Davinder Singh Sekhon of Misal Satluj.
