Talking to this correspondent, Jalandhar Range DIG Naveen Singla on Monday said according to preliminary investigations, three masked individuals riding a motorcycle approached Hans Raj’s home and lobbed petrol-filled bottles before fleeing the scene. The incident left burn marks on the main gate and shattered glass strewn across the interior of the house. CCTV footage from the area captured clear visuals of the suspects, which are now being analysed by the police.

The DIG confirmed that a case under relevant Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered and a thorough investigation is underway. “So far, no threat or extortion calls have been received by the family, and no evidence of personal enmity has surfaced during initial inquiries,” DIG Singla stated.

SSP Harvinder Singh Virk said, currently, Hans Raj, his wife Paraminder Kaur, and their younger son, Sumeet Kumar, reside there. The couple’s other children are settled abroad. The family discovered the damage early Monday morning and immediately reported the matter to Adampur police.

DIG Singla emphasised that the incident is being treated with utmost seriousness. “We are confident of identifying and apprehending the culprits soon. The safety of residents is our top priority,” he said.
