In a significant political development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strengthened its position in Phagwara under the leadership of MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal and Akali Dal (Amritsar) suffered a major blow as several of its senior leaders, including Raghubir Singh, Resham Singh Pappi, Kamalpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Amrik Singh, Charan Singh, and Sheetal Singh, decided to leave the party and join AAP.

The defecting leaders expressed their admiration for his leadership. They stated that their decision was influenced by his commitment to the welfare of the region and his ability to connect with the people.

Welcoming them into the party, Dr Chabbewal hailed their inclusion as a major achievement for AAP. “This is a testament to the growing acceptance of AAP among the people. It reflects their trust in our vision and developmental initiatives,” he said.
