Government Primary Smart School, Hardaspur village, Phagwara, has recently received an appreciation letter from Education Secretary Krishan Kumar for increasing the enrollment of pre-primary students above 25 per cent. Kumar also shared the activity and achievement report of the school on the social media page of the Education Department. Sharing the information about the achievement, Gurvinder Kaur, Head Teacher of the school, said, it was transformed into a smart school in August, last year. Since the beginning of the new academic year, it was striving hard to get more students enrolled. The academic achievements of the students also brought laurels to the school. While, Mannat, a student of Class 2, won a consolation prize for the ambassador of hope competition conducted by the state Education Minister, Sunaina, a student of Class V got the second position at the district-level competition in PowerPoint presentation competition. Similarly, Simran, a student of Class V got first position in the block-level Punjabi handwriting competition.
Left SAD, Muslim leaders join Cong
Muslim leaders of Panshta block announced their exit from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and joined hand with Congress. The leaders of Muslim community joined Congress in the presence of MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal. Those who left SAD include, Roshandin, Hussain Din, Surnam, Mohammad Bakshir, Mohammad Hussain, Surnam Ali, Liakat Ali, Dalvir Ali, Sharif Ali Hussain abd Naghi Shah. Block Congress Committee President Sanjeev Bagga, Rinku Walia, Raju Bhagatpura, Harbansla, Jang Bhadur and others were present on the occasion.
