Phagwara Man found murdered

Jalandhar: A 35-year-old man, Paramjit Singh, was found murdered at his house in Amrik Nagari Bhularai locality of Phagwara on Thursday. Neighbours complained of foul smell in the house and informed the police, which found the body lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and started investigation. OC

Youth ends life by suicide

Nakodar: A 21-year-old youth ended life by suicide here on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Bittu, a resident of Uggi village. Manjit Kaur, mother of the deceased, told the police that his son consumed some poisonous substance and ended his life. Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhwindar Singh said the body was handed over to the family after the postmortem. OC

Kargil heroes honoured

Jalandhar: To celebrate India’s victory in the Kargil War, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an interactive session with war heroes. Kargil hero honorary Capt Raghunath Singh, Vir Chakra awardee, and Subedar Sarwan Singh, Seva Medal awardee were among the guests. Principal Ajay Sareen welcomed the guests and honoured them with silver salvers and paintings.
