The racing team of LPU — Voltrons and Deuce— won 11 prestigious awards in combustion (CV) and electric vehicle (EV) categories at the Indian Karting Race-2024, which concluded at Buddh International Circuit. It was organised by the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE), India.

More than 60 teams from across India participated in the events. The LPU teams were challenged to design and fabricate prototype vehicles from scratch, focusing on engineering design, cost and manufacturing, marketability and dynamic performance. The team was crowned overall champion in both combustion and electric vehicle categories, winning a total cash prize of Rs 1.6 lakh. The Indian Karting Race is a competition that provides a platform for engineering students to gain hands-on experience while applying classroom theories. — OC
