Phagwara: Youth booked for kidnapping
Phagwara: The police have booked a youth on the charges of kidnapping a minor girl and compelling her for marriage. The accused has been identified as Gurwindar Singh of Kot Sadar Khan village under Kot Esse Khan police station, Moga. The father of the victim complained to the police that the accused kidnapped his daughter on August 20. A case has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab him.
Six booked for assaulting youth
Phagwara: The police have booked six persons on the charges of assaulting a teenager. The accused have been identified as Ajay Kumar, Lovpreet, Boby Kumar and Satnam Singh, all residents of Bhoepur village; Gora of Salaichan village and Vishal of Mulle Wal Arayeen village. Mandeep Singh of Bhoepur village complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on August 10 attacked him and his friend with weapons and seriously injured them. A case has been registered against the accused.
Youth nabbed under NDPS Act
Phagwara: The police have arrested a youth on the charge of selling intoxicated tablets. The investigating officer said 50 intoxicated tablets were seized from the possession of the accused Tirath Singh of Sohal Khurd village. A case under Section 22-B/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a motorcycle on which he was travelling with the contraband.
