Hoshiarpur, July 30
A massive plantation drive was launched yesterday at the Dada Army Range, Hoshiarpur. The initiative saw the collaboration of the civil administration, the Army, and the Forest Department.
Those who participated in the event were Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa, Major General Mukesh Sharma, GOC, Amritsar Division, and Army formations from Jalandhar. The drive is set to continue under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) N Yadav.
The initiative was spearheaded by Col Mandip Grewal and his wife Kamaljit Grewal. During the drive, various saplings were planted, including sukh-chain, peepal, neem, silver oak, bode, sheesham, kachnar and jacaranda. The target is to plant approximately 2,000 saplings. — OC
