Police conduct parade, anti-riot drill
The Commissionerate Police Jalandhar carried out a series of preparedness activities at the Police Lines today, including a general parade and an anti-riot mock drill aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and readiness.
Nearly 300 police personnel participated in the parade where their uniforms, weapons and discipline were inspected. The exercise also included weapons training and demonstrations of crowd control techniques such as the use of tear gas and water cannons.
A dedicated anti-riot mock drill saw the participation of over 50 personnel, focusing on real-time response strategies and safety measures to be adopted during public protests. Officials stated that the objective was to reinforce physical endurance, mental agility, and discipline within the ranks.
Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, who oversaw the exercises, emphasized the need for continuous training. “The police force must be prepared for all situations. Regular drills help us remain alert and capable of handling any untoward incident,” she said.
Kaur also highlighted the importance of maintaining both physical and mental fitness to ensure round-the-clock public service.
