In a major action against drug trafficking, Kapurthala police carried out an extensive search operation on Tuesday at the residence of alleged drug trafficker Sandeep Singh, also known as ‘Seepa’. The operation was conducted on the orders of senior district officials as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics networks operating in the region.

According to police sources, the search team included senior officers and multiple specialised units tasked with gathering evidence related to alleged smuggling activities. The operation began early in the morning and continued for several hours, during which police examined various parts of the house and surrounding premises. Officials stated that the action followed inputs suggesting possible links between the accused and a wider drug supply chain.

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Prabhjot Singh Virk reportedly supervised the search and confirmed that the department is intensifying efforts to trace individuals connected to the network. Police added that any material recovered during the operation would play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation.

The crackdown is part of the administration’s broader campaign to curb drug trafficking in Punjab. Authorities reiterated their commitment to dismantling such networks and taking strict legal action against those involved. Further details about the findings are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
