As part of the ongoing drive against traffic violations, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police intensified its efforts with the launch of a special campaign led by Harjinder Singh, ACP, Model Town, on Friday evening. The drive was held from 5 pm to 9 pm during which the police checked vehicles at Manbro Chowk and Chunmun Mall.
The drive, conducted by the SHO, police station Division No. 6, in collaboration with the Emergency Response System (ERS) team, aimed to crackdown on motorists breaking traffic rules. Special checkpoints were set up to ensure immediate action against violators.
During the drive, 100 vehicles were inspected. Fifteen vehicle owners were challaned for various infractions, including illegal black films on four-wheelers, missing registration number plates, riding without helmets, jumping red light and driving Bullet motorcycle with modified silencers causing noise pollution.
“This continuous effort underscores the Commissionerate Police’s dedication to ensure road safety and enforcing traffic laws across the city,” the Model Town ACP said, while adding that such drives would continue in the coming days too. He appealed to residents to follow traffic rules.
