In a step towards improving police responsiveness, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police flagged off 14 Emergency Response System (ERS) motorcycles today.

The flag-off ceremony, held at Police Lines, Jalandhar, was presided over by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma and Manmohan Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police.

These ERS motorcycles are designed to enhance the police force ability to navigate the congested areas and narrow streets, where larger vehicles face challenges. Each of Jalandhar’s 14 police stations will receive one motorcycle, with two officers being assigned to each bike. These officers will be deployed for patrolling, checking and responding to emergency calls.

The motorcycles are equipped with advanced communication systems and first-aid kits, enabling the officers to provide immediate assistance on-site. This initiative aims to ensure a quicker and more efficient response to emergency calls made to the police helpline numbers.

The fleet consists of 10 TVS Apache and four Honda Liva motorcycles, selected for their ability to handle urban and suburban environments.
