Police seize narcotics, accused held after multiple ops across Kapurthala

Several accused have been arrested, while investigations continue in other incidents.
During routine checking, a police team intercepted two suspicious youths travelling on a motorcycle. The riders, identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi and Sukhdev Singh alias Mani, were taken into custody after police recovered 16 grams of heroin that the accused had allegedly discarded along the roadside in an attempt to evade detection. A case was registered, and both individuals were arrested at the spot.
In another significant action, acting on a confidential tip-off, a police party reached near a restaurant on GT Road Hamira and apprehended a woman, Veer Kaur, who was reportedly waiting to sell intoxicant tablets. Police recovered 60 loose narcotic tablets from her possession, following which a case was registered and she was taken into custody.
Meanwhile, multiple incidents of vehicle theft were reported from different police stations. In one case, Surjit Kumar of Phagwara reported the theft of his grey Activa scooter (PB09-AD-5404) from outside his relative’s residence. Similarly, Mukul Arora, an advocate, reported that his Hero Honda Passion Pro (PB09-S-1270) was stolen from the parking area of the court complex. Another complaint was filed by Naresh Kumar of Kapurthala, who stated that his Splendor motorcycle was stolen from outside a bank. During the incident, locals managed to detain one suspect, identified as Vikas, while another individual fled the scene.
