Polytechnic college guard found hanging in room

A security guard, working at Mehr Chand Polytechnic College here, died by suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his room on the college premises on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Nath.
The college authorities got to know about the incident on Thursday morning when the guard didn’t turn up for his duty. When other security personnel went to his room, he was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The college authorities immediately informed the police about the incident and declared a holiday for students to avoid any panic-like situation on the campus.
After receiving the information, the police from Division Number 1 reached the college for investigation and sent the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Family members of the deceased were also informed about the incident.
