PPMET draws large turnout for nursing seats

Hundreds of Class 12 pass-out students appeared for the Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) 2025 held on Friday across various colleges in Jalandhar and surrounding areas. The examination, conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, saw a significant turnout.

The test was held at multiple venues, including DAV College, Jalandhar, HMV College, Sain Dass School, DAV College Phagwara and other institutes. Notably, around 90 per cent of the aspirants for nursing colleges were girls. The examination was conducted in an online mode.

The results of the examination will be declared on June 20, with counseling scheduled to begin on June 27. Seat allotment will commence on July 4 and the new academic session is set to begin by August 1.

Given the high demand for nurses in countries such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US, the four-year BSc Nursing course continues to attract a large number of applicants to colleges across the state.
