Pregnant woman assaulted, three booked in Phagwara

An incident of assault on a nine-month pregnant woman has come to light in Phagwara, following which the police have registered a case against three persons.

According to a complaint lodged by Mandeesh Kaur, a resident of Sukhchain Nagar in Phagwara, the dispute reportedly began when her husband requested some local workers to replace a broken electricity cable.

The FIR states that the accused physically assaulted Kaur and kicked her in the abdomen despite her advanced pregnancy.
