Prisoner injured in clash at Central Jail
Hoshiarpur, July 24
A bloody clash was reported between two groups in Central Jail, Hoshiarpur. According to information, an inmate was injured in the clash and brought to the Civil Hospital.
The injured youth has been identified as Gurjinder Singh. Gurjinder suffered serious injuries under his eye and on the head in the clash. According to the doctor, he was hit on the head with a rod.
However, the jail staff were not ready to talk about this. When the reporters tried to speak to the injured Gurjinder in the hospital, the police personnel who took him there, didn’t let him talk.
The doctor, who treated the injured at the Civil Hospital, said he had been sent back to jail. He received several stitches under his eyes and on his head.
Efforts were made to contact Assistant Jail Superintendent Harbhajan Singh on his mobile phone, but he didn’t pick the call despite repeated attempts.
