As many as 14 exhibitions will be showcased at the district-level Kisan Mela and Exhibition-cum-Awareness Camp scheduled to be held in Nurmahal on November 15. Progressive farmers from across the district will display a wide range of products- including achaar, haldi, oil, jaggery and more-produced using modern and advanced agricultural techniques.

The exhibitions aim to inspire fellow farmers to adopt innovative practices for value addition and enhanced income. Officials from the Agriculture Department, including Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Jaswinder Singh, inspected the venue today to review the preparations. "We want the camp to be truly beneficial for the farmers attending," he said.

According to officials, teams of the department from every block will coordinate with participating farmers, ensuring smooth management of the event. Around 1,500 farmers are expected to take part in the mela.

In addition to farmer-led stalls, several private companies dealing in pesticides and seeds will also set up booths. A technical session-designed to resolve farmers' queries and provide expert guidance-will be held from 11:30 am to 2 pm.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture Department has launched a district-wide awareness campaign involving artistes, students and farmers to educate communities about the harmful effects of burning paddy residue and to promote sustainable alternatives.
