To help residents benefit from the ongoing One-Time Settlement Policy–2025 for property tax, the Municipal Corporation (MC), Phagwara, has announced that its Property Tax Office will remain open on weekends till October 31.
Sharing details, Dr Akshita Gupta, Commissioner, MC Phagwara, said that the Punjab Government, through the Department of Local Government, has provided significant relief to property owners by allowing a 50 per cent exemption on penalty and interest for those who clear their pending property tax dues in full by the deadline.
She said the initiative, issued under the authority of the Governor of Punjab, aims to reduce the financial burden on residents and help them conveniently settle outstanding dues while improving revenue recovery for municipal bodies.
Mayor Ram Pal Uppal welcomed the decision and urged residents to take advantage of the scheme. “I urge all residents with pending property tax arrears to deposit their dues by October 31," he said.
