The VB, Hoshiarpur, has arrested PSPCL Deputy Chief Engineer and lineman for reportedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

DSP Munish Kumar Sharma said Lakhveer Singh, Senior Executive Engineer, a resident of village Harthala, near Jagat Avenue, Dasuya, had given a complaint to the Vigilance. He had said he was posted as Senior Executive Engineer in the PSPCL Division, Mukerian. He had alleged that Deputy Chief Engineer (Distribution), Hoshiarpur, Harminder Singh called him to his office on January 29 and demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 in the name of party fund. He alleged that the accused asked him that he should arrange the money soon and hand it over to Kewal Sharma, the lineman posted in his office.

DSP Sharma said on January 31, the complainant arranged the money and talked to Deputy Chief Engineer Harminder Singh on the phone, then he immediately told him to hand over the money to lineman Sharma. The complainant said on the instructions of Harminder, he talked to the lineman. The complainant had approached the Vigilance Department.
