IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) has joined hands with Infosys Springboard. With this, IKGPTU has become the first university in the state to launch Infosys Springboard.

Infosys Springboard launch ceremony took place at the main campus of the university on Monday, in which the Vice-Chancellor of the university, professor Susheel Mittal, was the chief guest. The ceremony was addressed by Infosys Springboard, learning and programme manager Meenakshi S through online mode. Principal consultant learning, Infosys Limited, Kamaljeet Kaur graced the launch ceremony as the keynote speaker. The function was organised by the training, placement, alumni and corporate relations department of the university. The welcome address was delivered by deputy director Navdeep Sandhu.

Prof Mittal said the collaboration and participation in this project was a part of the objective. He said the target was to facilitate technical education through industry-academia work together initiatives. Mittal said technical education was different from other traditional education as there was a need to work in the industrial environment.

Kamaljeet Kaur gave a demo to the students present about the courses available on Infosys Springboard. She clarified that work on credit transfer of these courses will also be done in collaboration with the board of studies of the university very soon. He said all the courses and subjects required by the market and industry were available on Infosys Springboard. Kamaljeet Kaur inspired the students as well as the faculty to take advantage of it. In the end, the vote of thanks was read by Dean Academics Vikas Chawla. All the senior officers and faculty members of the university were present on the occasion.
