PU girl secures scholarship for law studies in Belgium
Ishita, a law graduate from Panjab University, Chandigarh, has been awarded the highly competitive Mastermind Scholarship by the Belgian government.
This scholarship fully covers her tuition fees and includes an annual stipend of 10,000 euros for living and food expenses. Ishita has been accepted into the Master of Laws in International and European Law programme at Ghent University, beginning this month.
Talking to this correspondent, Ishita shared that she had a desire to pursue her master’s degree abroad without burdening her parents or relying on an education loan. “I spent months searching for scholarships that would fully fund my education. After extensive research, I applied for the scholarship. Following a rigorous selection process, I successfully secured the award,” she said.
Sharing details about the scholarship, she said that the mastermind scholarship is a highly sought-after programme offered by the Government of Flanders, Belgium. It is designed to attract top international students to Belgium. Only about 30 students from around the world are selected each year. Administered by the VLUHR Organisation, candidates are chosen based on academic excellence, leadership potential and their ability to meet stringent criteria set by Belgian institutions.
Ishita expressed gratitude to Saurabh Bassi, owner of an IELTS institute in SBS Nagar, for his guidance throughout the process. “His support was instrumental in helping me navigate the complex application procedures for this scholarship,” she said.
Saurabh said, “We are incredibly proud of Ishita. She was the perfect fit for this scholarship, and her determination to excel was clear from the beginning. I am confident she will bring glory to Punjab and India through her success.”
