In an effort to promote reading habits and preserve Punjabi literary heritage in rural areas, the Punjabi Virsa Trust, Phagwara, has launched an initiative to encourage the establishment of libraries in villages. As part of this effort, the trust donated 500 books to the newly built library in Burn village.

The library building has been constructed through the joint efforts of the village panchayat and local NRIs. Responding to a proposal from young social activist Pavittar Singh Burn, the trust decided to contribute books by prominent Punjabi authors to enrich the library’s collection.
