The Punjab women's hockey team secured the silver medal in the women's category of the inaugural Hockey India Masters Cup, organised by Hockey India.

The final match was held at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Astroturf Hockey Ground in Chennai and featured a closely contested encounter between Punjab and Odisha. In the 34th minute of the game, Ranjitha of Odisha converted a penalty corner to score the only goal of the match, giving her team a crucial lead.

After the goal, the Punjab team made many attacks but couldn’t score. In the final quarter, Punjab got two penalty corners but couldn’t net a goal.
