Punjabi, folk singers to mesmerise people at three-day Heritage Fest

The Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab Government, and the district administration are all set to hold a three-day Kapurthala Heritage Festival from March 1-3 at Sainik School here.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said preparations were in full swing for hosting the mega event. He said poetry, Sufi music, folk singing, dance and sports activities would be the centre of attraction.
He said on the first day of the festival, renowned Punjabi singer Amrit Mann would perform, while Karamat Faqir Qawwal would present qawwalis on March 2.
The concluding day would witness a performance by noted Punjabi folk singer Manmohan Waris. Several other performances have been lined up on all these three days to entertain the visitors and depict the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.
The Deputy Commissioner said the district administration was all geared up for the festival. He directed the officials to ensure timely completion of arrangements so as to facilitate the visitors.
