Just a day after a fatal accident claimed one life, three more incidents were reported from Nawanshahr, Rahon and Balachaur on Wednesday.
In one of the incidents from Nawanshahr, Tajinder Pal filed a complaint stating that his daughter and grandson were hit from behind by a motorcycle while riding an Activa to visit relatives. He said his daughter and grandson had come to stay with him for a few days, and were returning to their house on the day of the accident. Tajinder was following them on another bike when the collision occurred.
“I was behind them on my bike when a motorcycle rammed into them,” Tajinder told the police. His daughter succumbed to serious head injuries, while his grandson is currently undergoing treatment.
A separate fatality was reported in Balachaur. Gurnam Singh lodged a complaint stating that his relative died after being struck by a speeding vehicle. A case has been registered under Sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
In Rahon, a woman constable with the Punjab Police was injured when a high-speed bike hit her from behind. She was on her way home on a scooty when the incident occurred. She has been hospitalised.
These incidents follow a fatal accident reported recently in which Harmesh Kaur and her son Sagar were hit by a speeding Bolero near Garhshankar.
“We were going on our bike when a Bolero came speeding and hit us. Sagar was severely injured and later died, while I also suffered injuries,” Harmesh told police.
