Red Cross Society distributes warm clothes in Nawanshahr

SDM Nawanshahr-cum-Honorary Secretary, Red Cross Society, Dr Akshita Gupta distributed warm jackets and boots to the needy at various locations in the city under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman. The initiative, part of Cold Wave Season 2025 directives issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, was supported by the District Red Cross Society.

The administration urged the public to minimise outdoor exposure in severe cold. The elderly and heart patients were advised to avoid morning walks and stay indoors to prevent cold-related illnesses like pneumonia and muscle cramps.

Officials from the Block Development and Panchayat Office, Revenue and Health Departments were directed to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology to mitigate risks during severe winter. Residents were reminded that negligence of health can be life-threatening during this period.
