Phagwara, December 17
BJP councillor Anurag Mankhand has demanded immediate removal of public toilets from the Hargobind Nagar locality here.
BJP MC Mankhand met and submitted a memorandum to ADC- cum-Commissioner MC Gurmit Singh Multani and demanded the earliest removal of these toilets. Mankhand said the toilets are spreading foul smell in the locality and were being misused by drugs addicts. Notably these public utilities were constructed with a cost of Rs 15 lakh and the then Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Phagwara MLA Som Parkash had inaugurated these public toilets on July 30 in 2016 to facilitate the people.
The ADC assured an early action in this regard.
Meanwhile BJP Councilor Anurag Mankhand told newsmen here today that Bhagwan Purshuram Park would soon be renovated and an open gym be set up at the park to attract the youths for exercise. Mankhand said that the park would be beautified by providing modern lights, music system and CCTVs.
