The supply of drinking water in Mahindwani and Bhandiyar villages has been stopped for a week but the government and administration are busy in stopping the supply of water to neighbouring states like Haryana and Rajasthan, ignoring problems at the local level.

Alleging this, Rana Jagroop Singh, former Sarpanchs Kulbhushan Kumar and Davinder Rana Balveer Singh, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Ram Kumar, Rana Subhash, Sham Singh, Yudhveer Singh and former panch Gurdeep Singh said that the government representatives are making big claims of development but both the villages have not been getting drinking water supply for a week.

During the summer season, when there is greater need for water, the departments concerned did not take any action even after drinking water supply was stopped for a week, which clearly shows that the officials do not care about people, said local residents.

The protesters said that the entire village has decided that if we do not get drinking water by Monday, a protest will be staged in Garhshankar. They demanded that small villages should have an option of getting drinking water for emergency situations.
