Rly staff, farmers flay privatisation

Jalandhar: Holding a joint protest, representatives of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and the trade unions of the Railways today sat on a dharna near the entrance of Jalandhar City Railway Station today. Farmers, labourers and railway employees flayed the Centre over its recent moves pertaining to privatisation of the government departments and giving all out support to the corporates. They flayed the government over the rising prices of fuel and LPG. They handed over a memorandum in the name of PM Narendra Modi through SDM-1 Jai Inder Singh. The members said while earlier, airports, airlines, hospitals, educational institutes and petrol companies had been sold; now the same move was being mulled for the Railways. TNS
